introducing charlie...

this is charlie, the newest addition to our home. he's a 10-month old english mastiff who we adopted after he was returned to his breeder because he has elbow dysplasia. he comes from farpoint kennels, who are impeccably ethical folks - they gave him to us after visiting our home, and contributed to the cost of his elbow surgery. charlie (fka, "boomer" - we changed his name, because I couldn't get Boomer Esiason out of my head when I said it...) was going to be a show dog; he's the son of "southport sherman," who apparently is the winningest mastiff in history. we don't care much about that stuff, and his elbow problems have destined him to a life of luxury and sloth in our home. although, i often see signs of his vanity - he is particularly proud of himself ...
